CookieCon 2014 Artfully Designed stenciled cookies

Just a quick blog filled with a lot of pics!! Shannon from Artfully Designed Co. Asked if I could make some cookies using some of her 75 stencils that she is selling at CookieCon this week. I said of course!
Then I got scared when I got all the stencils. I really wanted them to look great for Shannon she just wanted to have some real life samples of what the stencils look like on a cookie.

So I got to work...this first one is the Thankul for stencil and I thought what am I thankful for?? Well my kithchen and CookieCon of course.

This is the first group I did. I did not love all of them so I redid a few...

These were the few I did over.

Rose back ground. Seriously is so pretty.

Temple Cookies

I saw a temple cookie cutter at Desert Book awhile ago it was a little pricey so I told myself no, but then a few weeks later I succumbed and I had to go buy it!

This was the last cookie I frosted and I ran out of white icing and I didn't want to make some more icing so I just filled the rest of it with gray in the corner and then dragged it out into the white as it turns out it was one of my favorites of the bunch.

It's Great to be 8

Cookies for a special girl name Ella, she turned 8 and was baptized this month. I was excited make some cookies for her special day.

CTR stands for Choose The Right!

Most religions have infant baptism but the belief in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is that the age of accountability is at 8 years old. Before 8 years old children are alive in Christ. Once you turn 8 you should know the difference between right and wrong and you are then accountable for your actions and choices. When LDS members turn 8 years old they can choose to be baptized a member of the church that is why it is "Great to be 8"!

Some cute white dresses, I was inspired by some cookies I saw on the Sugar Bliss website.

And of course a E for Ella!

It was so fun to attend her baptism she was very cute and so happy with the choice she had made to be baptized!

Elizabeth's Christening

I got the privilege to do cookies for a Finnish family that has moved to Utah recently. Tuija and her family are some of the nicest people around. There little Elizabeth was christened a couple of weeks ago and Tuija wanted some cookies and a cake for the celebration gathering following the christening.

I also made some Karelian Pies or as the Finns call it karjalanpiirakka. They are a savory pastry made of a rye crust with a rice porridge filling. You think top it with egg butter and they are so delicious  Seriously I love them, they are my most favorite Finnish food.

I was not in love with my finished product on the top tier of this cake. Just makes me realize that I need to be a better planner and maybe I should not try to cover cakes with fondant, I should just stick to butter cream. :)
