CookieCon 2014 Artfully Designed stenciled cookies

Just a quick blog filled with a lot of pics!! Shannon from Artfully Designed Co. Asked if I could make some cookies using some of her 75 stencils that she is selling at CookieCon this week. I said of course!
Then I got scared when I got all the stencils. I really wanted them to look great for Shannon she just wanted to have some real life samples of what the stencils look like on a cookie.

So I got to work...this first one is the Thankul for stencil and I thought what am I thankful for?? Well my kithchen and CookieCon of course.

This is the first group I did. I did not love all of them so I redid a few...

These were the few I did over.

Crossfit Bride

Got a message on FB asking if I could do some bridal shower cookies for a Crossfit bride which would be a part of a open house for the gym the bride works out at.

The shower theme was "bells and rings". I thought it would be cute if there were some brides lifting kettle bells and holding onto the rings. This is what I ended up with.

Then more of just the kettle bells and the rings.

Hearts with their initials and the gyms logo.

The whole platter. I sure hope that the party went well. Thanks Britta!

Cake #3- Bridal Shower

My sister in law threw a bridal shower for my niece Emily last saturday and I asked if I could help and I was told I could bring a salad or a treat. I chose to do a treat and since I was doing two other cakes last friday I figured I would make another.

I got my inspiration from the invitation.

To make it simple I just bought a sugar sheet with damask already on it then cut it in half and applied it to the buttercream, then just cut out a silohette of a bridge and groom in modeling chocolate and it was good to go.

I forgot to add the rose in the picture above, but you can see it in the one below with my beautiful niece posing with the food. I think the rose on the brides hair really made it cute.

Bridal Shower for Kelli

My good friend, Kelli, is getting married in two weeks and I got to host her bridal shower last week. I worked all week on the decor and making almost all of the food for the refreshment table. It was fun and a little stressful, but it turned out well and most important Kelli's friends came to celebrate her getting married to the man she loves!

First off lets look at the cookies, of course there would be cookies. This collage I did for the purpose of Lila Loa's challenge to photograph cookies in a new way. I always takes pictures with just a white back ground so this time I used green tissue paper. I think they actually look good maybe I will try other stuff more often.

When I saw Sugar Nosh Treats post her easy way of airbrushing a lace design, I knew it would be perfect to do for the lingerie cookies I planned for the shower. These larger ones I made as party favors for each party guest.

I also made some smaller cookies to have out on a platter. I saw some bride and groom cookies on the web some where a month or two ago and I thought it was such a cute idea. I have been trying to find those pics again but have not been able to find them so if you know who did them let me know so I can give them credit.
When I saw Mycakeschool.com's Billy Balls cake tutorial I knew it would be perfect. This is my chocolate version.

The next pictures are from my basement family room, where the light is not the best so they don't look so hot.

Party favors.

Cookie platter.
Yummy mini chocolate coconut cake balls.
Butter mints.
Savory side, Pioneer Woman's bacon appetizers and prairie sushi. Mozzarella tomato basil skewers were furnished by my friend Kim and I was so thankful for her help and they were so good, and I was so happy to polish off the leftovers! Oh and tucked behind the skewers was the drink, it was pineapple mint water. It was so delicious. No sugar just flavored water. I loved it!

The burlap, green and white scheme looked really good together and thanks to my friend Kylie, she let me shop through her house and borrow some of her decor and serving dishes for the day.

Sneaking in Lingerie

I have seen lingerie cookies on the internet and of course wanted to try my hand at it. I know I could just make them for the heck of it. But if I made cookies for that reason I would be making them all the time and then my family would be mostly eating then (and getting fat), because what is my neighbor going to think when I randomly show up with lingerie cookies. They would thing I was some kind of nut! :)

So anyway I usually wait for some event to happen with friends or family and then I pull out some sweet confection I have been waiting to do. So when my niece got engaged last month I was so excited because I knew there would be a bridal shower and I would get to do LINGERIE cookies.

The party was last Saturday and my nieces sister in law threw a great bridal shower. It was a "stock the pantry" bridal shower. To help out the couple, we were assigned items to bring that would help stock their food/pantry shelves ie.. I got the Clorox wipes and duct tape assignment along with bringing a favorite recipe to help stock her recipe box. Well since it was not the typical personal bridal shower there would not be any gifts containing small amounts of fabric adorned with lace and ribbon. So perfect chance for me to sneak in Lingerie and I did it in the form of a cookie!!!

The images that I saw on the Internet that inspired me to make these cookies were designs from SweetSugarbelle, Songbird Sweets and Montreal Cookies!

These were some of my favorites, I like the crisscross corset look.

I had a lot of fun doing these and everybody loved them at the shower and it was funny to be eating lingerie!!
