Wild Kratts Cake

A friend contacted me and asked if I could do a cake for her sons birthday party.
I think it turned out pretty good. My son now wants this for his next birthday.  :)

Chocolate cake filled with vanilla cream and covered in butter-cream and MMF accents.

Baby Thank You - Lila Loa Feb Challenge

Over at Lila Loa she challenged her readers to sketch out before doing our cookies and then we got to share them with her.

Sometimes I sketch and sometimes I don't but I think it is a smart way of doing it because just thinking things up in my head don't come out on the cookie like my head thinks it is going to, so sketching is probably the smart thing to do.

I got an order to make some thank you cookies from a mother to be. She wanted to give her nurses that would be helping in her schedule induction and birth of her baby boy. So I made a sketch for her of what I thought would be a cute idea and then sent it to her.  She said they looked great.
(I have done the baby faces before which are SweetSugarBelle's idea.)

I think they ended up pretty darn cute.

I hope that her induction went well and that the nurses enjoyed their thank yous.

Cars Birthday

My good friends little girl turned 3 and she loves Cars and Lightning McQueen. She wanted to have some cookies for the party so the racing flag, lightning bolt and McQueen eyes are what we did.

Winter

Just some winter cookies I did in January.

Saw cute little snowmen on cookie crazies page and wanted to do some myself, they are so simple and easy to do.

High Heels

My sister asked for some shoe cookies for her wards young womens New Beginnings meeting. The theme for this year was "Stand in Holy Places". So pretty much most New Beginnings this year is having a shoe theme.

I had a few different cookie cutters to choose from and we wanted to do a simple design these were the choices.

The gold shoe was chosen. Funny thing about those fondant flowers. I made about 60 of them and they were put up on the counter in a container. Well I was out of the room for about 15 minutes and later when I came back to the kitchen I see that almost all of the flowers are gone with about 50 black sugar pearls left in the container. My lovely little daughter ate 50 of the flowers and apparently did not like the sugar pearls. I was not please to have to do them again but it was not too painful.

Coloring Cookies

Made coloring cookies last month. I saw the idea on montreal confections you tube channel. I had a friend who wanted to do some peace sign cookies for her daughters birthday. She said she just loved to draw them all the time. So I told her that I could make them like a coloring page in just a black out line and then the girls could use the edible in markers to color them up.

So I made them up and made a few extra little ones for my kids to try out first. Here they are coloring.

Here is one that I colored in. It works like a charm.

Some that I did for the party.

My kids finished project. My daughter keeps asking if she can color on some more cookies. So I think they were a hit. This is a great idea for a birthday or a party where you want your attendees to be a little creative. :)

All wrapped up and ready to go to the groovy party.

Oh and a pic of my son with the peace sign cookie he colored. I also saw how you can do this on a fondant covered cake and think I will try that some day as well.
