It's cold outside time to bundle up in Sweater, mitten and hat......cookies!!

It has been awhile since I have made a post but I wanted to share these cute sweater cookies I did for a good friend. I tracked down the ugly sweater cookie cutter because I have always wanted to do Christmas ugly sweater cookies but then I decided I want to do just some cable knit sweaters instead. And hopefully they are not ugly. :)

Here are the sweater my frosting was a little thick for the cable knit so my hand got a little tired.
I know the consistency is the main key but I am just too lazy to remix sometimes.

It's getting colder so you need to start wearing those beenies! I would wear a white one like these if I had one.

And keeping those fingers toasty it important. I airbrushed retro snowflakes on all the cookies first before the detail and you can see it in the hats and gloves the most. Stencil is from Artfully Designed.

I thought I would put a couple of outfits together that might be fun to wear if they were real. But eating them will be even better.

And the whole wardrobe altogether. It's amazing how using just white can make really cute cookies. And if you have an aversion to food coloring you can see you can still have pretty cookies.

Thanks LJ for the order I hope your girls night is a blast!!

Annette Southern Belle nurse! Birthday Cookies

I have not been really good at posting on this blog this year. These cookies were in fact made clear back in January!! My friend wanted some birthday cookies for her friend Annette.

Like I normally do, I like to make sets that include their hobbies and likes.
Annette is a awesome nurse.

The magnolia is her favorite flower.

She loves to bake.

And the whole crew together!

Prison Cookies???? Yes that is what I said!

It has been so long since I have done a blog post. I wanted to share these cookies that when I got the order I was thinking...."really??? you want what??!!"

One of my best customers sent me a text saying she was in need of some cookies. Her text said that she had a friend getting out of Jail and wanted to give cookies to them as a joke to make light of the whole situation. I can honestly tell you that this was the most interesting cookie request I have received to date.

After I got the request I started thinking of what I could do and I saw some "cute" clip art of a prisoner behind bars and I thought he had to be cookied.

Of course handcuff cookies were in order. I used this eye Wilton glasses cookie cutter to make them and trimmed the edges and then squeezed the sides down. You can get this cutter in this set here.

I then used the Sugarbelle bus cutter to make police car cookies! This cutter is so awesome. I have used it a few different times already but not as a bus. If you want to order one you can at this link on Karenscookies.net

The first time I used it was as a moving truck.
Then as a regular truck

And here are the police cars I did from the cutter. I actually trimmed the top down a bit on these. And these were my favorite.

I decided to do some minis to spell Free at Last!

It started out as a pretty strange request but ended up being one of my favorite sets!

Thanks Leslie for the order :)

New Home Cookies

My good friend wanted to give cookies to her brother and his girlfriend who just bought a new home. I love when she tells me to just come up with something on my own.

Cookies for a couple who just moved into a new home!

Any place can be a home as long as your heart resides there. I thought the stacked heart cookies was a cute idea.

Some plaques to welcome them home and congrats on building a new house!

This cutter is Sugarbelles design that can be found here and Karen's Cookies. It is a school bus cutter but I turned it into a moving van. I have seen so many clever ways to use this cutter it is a great cutter to have.

Thanks for the order Laura and I hope that they loved their home cookies!

Sports birthday, basketball and soccer cookies!

For a young 10 year old who lobes BYU and sports.

Basketballs are pretty simple and round cookie with orange icing and black lines. Then I thought I should make it a bit more realistic and decided to add a BUNCH of dots for texture..... that took a little time.

Told myself I would not do them like that again but every time I do a basketball I end up doing it!

Bacon cookies??? It all about Pork!

One of my best friend father-in-law wanted to get some cookies as a practical joke for a friend of his. I don't really know the whole story but I guess they go back and forth playing jokes on each other over many years. Well the friend is Jewish and so he wanted to send him some "kosher" cookies for his birthday. On the box I had specific instructions to label as...

Southern Kosher Cookies
(The Ultimate in Bad Taste)

He just asked me to write out the names of different pork products on the cookies but I thought it would be fun to add some pictures as well. This is what I cam up with. I used edible ink pens to do the drawings.

I thought it was strange at first but I think they came out cute in the end!!
Thanks Ed and Evonne for taking me out of my comfort zone. :)

Celebrate Life! My precious Bud and Tutes

Celebrating life today, and honoring a very special woman through honoring others.

We are celebrating the life today of Anita from Sweet Hope Cookies, she is an amazing woman in the cookie world.....well, she is just an amazing woman period!! Her example of selflessness and charity is so wonderful. I often think there are no people that give of themselves in this world including me, and when I see her constantly thinking of others it restores my faith in humanity, and gives me the boost to improve myself.

With this project we were asked to make a cookie or set a cookies for someone you love, who inspires you or someone you are proud of.

I chose to honor my son and daughter. Since I have started making cookies more of a side business than a hobby, they unfortunately get less of my time. Every time I am doing a set of cookies my daughter will ask "who are these for?" and "are there any extras for us?" Most of the time there are no extras, but sometimes there are.
So I chose to do a set of cookies for my two wonderful children who make me proud everyday.

The above picture shows the stenciled pattern background a little better and the cookies in the picture below show the pet names that I call them, my special Bud and Tutes.

My son, who is my Bud came into our family a month earlier than planned, and in so doing his lungs were a little underdeveloped and he caught pneumonia. He had to stay in the hospital for 12 days before we could bring him home, so he got to spend his first Christmas attached to wires and tubes and I was a little freaked out. We got to bring him home on oxygen and he grew fast and was strong and was off of the oxygen within a week after coming home.   Since then he has been healthy and happy. He is such a tender sweet child and is willing to help out, and he takes care of his sister and forgives her quickly after she treats him unkindly. He is a smart kid and loves to build Lego sets and loves what every other seven year old kid likes...game consoles, electronics, scooters, Karate and super heroes!!

Our daughter came into our life five years ago in May, and she came in fast and furious, and she is still pretty fast and furious to this day! She likes to test my patience on a daily basis, but she is my Tutes girl and I love her dearly even if we butt heads on a daily basis. She has the most beautiful blue eyes that I love to stare at. She loves to sing and dance although she does not like you to watch her do it, for some reason this diva has a shy side.  She is bright and clever and ever so independent. She is going to accomplish great things if she puts her mind to it. She is four looks like she is six and acts like she is 16. :)

One more look at my Tutes girl......

and my Bud boy!

Excuse my messy kitchen, I live it in all day everyday and it shows. This is my children checking out the cookies as I unveiled them.

Their cute smiles.

I may not do a lot of things right, but my husband and I did two things perfect!!

Please check out all the other cookiers that made cookies to honor Anita and those who inspire them and remember to share your stories with others to #celebratelife
