Busy Mom Enjoys Sleep! - Mikkel

So I took a little break last week and took the kids to visit my parents for a few days. It was a great visit, the kids had a wonderful time and it was not as stressful as I thought it was going to be.

I decided to bring down the cookies for my n/n's birthday that is today. I prefer not to mail the cookies and since I was headed south I could get the cookies to Mikkel while I was down there.

Mikkel is the oldest child of my oldest brother Matt. I have already done cookies for her sister Emily and her brother Nathan. (only 2 more to go in that family)

I was almost 10 years old when Mikkel was born. She had this beautiful dark wavy hair and amazing blue eyes, a very cute baby indeed. Fast forward 29 years and she is a very beautiful woman, wife and mother of 3 darling children. I don't know how she keeps up with having 3 kids under 5 years old, I can barely handle the two that I have. Pretty sure that Mikkel must have more patience than me, but then again that is not very hard to do.

Mikkel has a knack of being thrifty. I remember the first time I experienced her thriftiness, her and her younger sister were going to a movie. Mikkel was probably around 11 years old and I think the movie was The Lion King. They asked if they could stop at Walmart first, and when I asked why, they explained to me that they were going to buy some $.25 sodas and get some candy to tuck in their purses so that they could have treats in the movie without having to pay a fortune for snacks. Smart girls, I have done that a few lots of times since then.

So onto the cookies. Mikkel is a mother of 3, and she told me that her favorite thing right now was taking a hot shower and hitting the sack. I gave making a bed a try and I totally understand where she is coming from. I spend way too much time in the hot shower and it is a total escape for me now days.
She loves Pinterest so I did the logo and was quite pleased. I made my Dad cut out the stencil for me for the "P".  I then traced it onto the cookies with a food pen, filled in the white icing, let it harden and then filled in the rest with red.
Mikkel is always finding great deals especially on clothes, hence the sales tags. The licorice rope gives them a cute touch.
Her sister said she loves the tall fashion boots so I threw in a couple of those. I started decorating these at 9:30 at night, and was rushing, so please forgive that they are not as smooth as they could have been.

I have many fond memories of Mikkel from letting her and sister driving my car on the old highway, taking her to movies and a fun trip to Montana.
Happy Birthday Mikkel, I hope that you are having a wonderful day!
